MP Shows Support For Local Charitable Fundraisers

DUP MP for Upper Bann Carla Lockhart has been out and about in the constituency over the weekend, supporting groups with fundraising endeavours. The local representative attended Portadown Ex-Servicemen Lodge Big Breakfast, and a Coronation Coffee Morning at Scarva Street Presbyterian Church in Banbridge.

Speaking after attending the events, Carla Lockhart said:

“It wouldn’t be a Saturday in Upper Bann without a range of fundraising events.

This week it was a pleasure to join Portadown Ex-Servicemen’s Lodge at their Big Breakfast. A huge amount of work was involved in providing a very tasty and generous breakfast and I know by the number of smiling faces and empty plates that those attending thoroughly enjoyed it. The Lodge is very active, and the support from within the community shows the close connection between the lodge and the local community.

It was also a pleasure to join with the congregation of Scarva Street Presbyterian Church in Banbridge at their Coronation Coffee Morning. Excitement and anticipation of the forthcoming Coronation is certainly building and this is one of dozens events planned across Upper Bann for the coming weeks. This was a great event to start off with, with delicious bakes on offer and a great sense of community.

My thanks goes to all those involved in these events. A huge amount of volunteer hours goes into making these events happen, and it is reflective of the community spirit in Upper Bann that we have so many of these events taking place week after week.”
