Over the last number of weeks the Newry Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership has hosted two Employer Engagement Events aimed at highlighting Newry, Mourne and Down as a ‘Great Place to Work’.

The first event NMD- ‘Food for Thought’ looked at the fantastic work many of our local businesses are doing in the area of food production and innovation.

The full house of attendees at the ‘Food for Thought’ event in the Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle heard from Deli Lites Ireland , NearyNógs Chocolate and Finnebrogue Artisan about career opportunities and pathways in the companies as well as business start up advice and supply chain opportunities.

The second, also fully subscribed event, NMD- ‘Our Place in the World’ event heard from three export businesses based locally and delivering globally, about career pathways and opportunities with the companies. The event, which took place at the Canal Court Hotel featured MJM Marine, Mourne Dew Distillery and Kukoon Rugs.

The events saw students from local schools, careers teachers, careers coaches, job seekers, other businesses and local careers advisors and organisations in attendance.

NMD Labour Market Partnership is funded by Department for Communities and delivered by Newry Mourne and Down District Council. The events were facilitated by Deborah Loughran from King Communication.
