Police in the Newry, Mourne and Down area are encouraging local people to report any concerns they have regarding crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.
Sergeant Kenny Gracey said: “Local police provide communities across Newry, Mourne and Down with dedicated Neighbourhood and Local Policing Team officers and community support-hub officers, who deliver bespoke, community-focussed policing suited to the needs of the people they serve.
Our skilled officers listen to, and work with, members of the public, community groups, wider partner agencies and local businesses, to reduce crime, protect the vulnerable and enhance community safety through problem-solving approaches and initiatives.
It is important however that local people contact us and make us aware of the issues affecting their community so we can allocate our resources effectively and really address local concerns. The best way to do this is to report. You can contact police, in a non-emergency, by submitting a report online via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or by calling 101. Our dedicated staff will make a record of your concerns and this information will then be used by us, your local officers, to inform our patrolling and the kinds of operations and initiatives we carry out in the local area.
Community input and engagement is key to ensuring we are tackling the issues that matter to you.”
