Sinn Féin Councillor Geraldine Kearns has said she is keen to use her position as the new chair of Newry DEA to work hard and tackle local issues for the people of Newry.
The Newry City councillor said:
““I’m delighted to become the new Cathaoirleach for the Newry DEA.
“The DEA forum is a council group that lets elected reps and community representatives work together to tackle issues of importance for local communities.
“I want to work with all parties, building close relationships with our local community and voluntary sector to identify the real issues for our community.
“Across our city there are people and groups who are keen to help develop Newry further into a first class city for all, I want to work with them to help deliver credible, transformative change for our city.
“I’m looking forward to working with everyone over the coming months to help support the development of our city for everyone.
“The development and regeneration of Newry is a key priority for Sinn Féin and we will continue working hard for you to deliver this.
