Newry and Armagh Assembly candidate and Newry City Councillor Gavin Malone has expressed his heartfelt thanks to the public for their incredible support during the 2022 Assembly campaign. Speaking from his Facebook page Councillor Malone expressed how he is looking forward to getting back to the busy work of being a Councillor for Newry City.
Cllr Malone said:
“Dear friends, it is with great regret and disappointment that I have to inform you that I was eliminated from the Newry / Armagh Constituency N. I Assembly election on the second count.
I am hugely disappointed and I want to inform everyone that I put my heart and soul into this election as I firmly believe I could have made a substantial difference in the new Assembly.”
“I want to thank everyone who helped me and my family during the past 4/6 weeks; I was greatly humbled by your tireless support and effort. You all worked long hours and made a massive difference to my campaign. I would also like to say thank you to my small back office team who provided excellent advice and direction during this very exciting time in my life.”
“I would like to congratulate all my fellow candidates for your dedicated work and I wish all those elected every success in their new roles and I know they will do all they can for the local community.
I now look forward to returning to my Councillor role on the Newry Mourne and Down District Council and I will pledge to continue to provide assistance to any resident who needs my help.”
Thank you to you all.
