SDLP MLA Justin McNulty has welcomed a U-Turn by Sinn Féin Finance Minister Conor Murphy on support for the hotel industry.
Mr. McNulty had publicly rebuked Minister Murphy’s decision to exclude hotels from the Executive’s hospitality support package announced on 23rd December.
Speaking after the U-Turn, the SDLP Newry & Armagh MLA commented, “I’m relieved that Conor Murphy has finally seen sense and at last decided to include local hotels like the Canal Court, Mourne Country & Armagh City Hotel in the hospitality support package.
“After the strange decision to include private members’ clubs for support but exclude hotels, I lobbied the Finance Minister to do the right thing, the sensible thing, and include hotels in the Executive’s hospitality support package. I am glad to see that the Finance Minister has responded to that pressure and extended support to the hotels industry.”
