McDonald’s Newry announces an exciting new partnership with the Carnbane Girls Youth League, further strengthening its commitment to supporting grassroots football and the continued growth of the girls’ game locally.
The partnership will officially launch this June, with McDonald’s Newry sponsoring the upcoming Carnbane Girls Youth League Festival Day — a key event that will bring together young players from across the area in a celebration of girls’ football.

The Carnbane Girls Youth League has played a vital role in developing female football in the Newry and Mourne area, creating inclusive opportunities for girls of all abilities to get involved in the sport, where previously girls-only football wasn’t available.
Gavin Doran said:
“We’re delighted to partner with the Carnbane Girls Youth League. Supporting grassroots football is something we’re incredibly passionate about, and it’s fantastic to see so many young girls getting involved in the game locally.”
“The Festival Day in June is a brilliant way to kick off our partnership, and we’re proud to support an event that celebrates participation, development and enjoyment of the game.”
Abbie Magee added:
“This partnership is a really positive step for the continued growth of girls’ football in the Newry area. The support from McDonald’s Newry will help us enhance the experience for players and create more opportunities for them to take part and thrive.”
“Events like the Festival Day are so important in bringing the community together and showcasing the progress being made in the girls’ game.”
The new collaboration reflects a shared commitment to encouraging participation, promoting inclusivity, and inspiring the next generation of female footballers.
With the Festival Day fast approaching, excitement is building for what promises to be a fantastic occasion for players, coaches and families alike.
