Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has praised the work of Department for Infrastructure crews who have repaired over 10,000 road defects in just eight weeks.
The member of the Infrastructure Committee said:
“This is really positive news and shows what can be done when investment is targeted where it is needed most.
“I want to commend all the workers for their tireless efforts over the last number of months in what has been an extremely difficult period following a long bout of bad weather.
“While significant ground has been covered, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins is working to ensure more road defects are repaired in the coming weeks.
“Ultimately, the Executive must be properly funded to ensure work like this can continue and that public services meet the needs of our communities.”
