Aontú leader and Meath West Peadar Tóibín has welcomed hundreds of new members into the party in the last 2 weeks. He stated:
“The last few weeks has seen massive growth for Aontú. We are delighted to welcome hundreds of new members into the party. 10% of our membership have joined in just the last 2 weeks. We are also delighted to welcome 2 new councillors recently and we are currently in negotiations with 7 more. It comes at a time of record poll ratings north and south. These poll ratings are 50% higher than our election results, which themselves saw the highest increase of votes of any party in the last election.
We are currently putting dozens of candidates in place across Ireland in preparation for a potential early elections, north and south. Its clear that if you work for people, you will grow. Aontú stood with farmers, school bus drivers and ordinary families in the recent fuel protests. We have had the largest impact per TD and Senator in the Dáil. We have been on the right side of the cost-of-living crisis, Covid, the Family and Carers referendum, the democratic deficit in the presidential elections, hate speech bill and gender ideology. We have been one of the strongest voices on government waste, the lack of accountability, CHI, Tusla and many more issues besides.
Public meetings held in Castleknock and Ballina last week saw massive numbers attending. This week seems public meetings in Mitchelstown and on line with representatives of the protests. Many more are planned north and south over the next few weeks. We are an energetic, well organised, membership base movement growing north and south.
