Sinn Féin MP Dáire Hughes and local Sinn Féin Councillor Declan Murphy have welcomed confirmation that resurfacing works at Meadowbrook Park Newry, have been secured and work will commence on 27th February.
Dáire Hughes MP said:
“This is very welcome news for the local community, residents, families and pedestrians, and this resurfacing will significantly improve safety and accessibility for everyone who uses the area.
“Sinn Féin has worked closely with residents to secure this resurfacing work. We listened to local concerns and worked tirelessly alongside the community to ensure this much-needed investment was delivered.
“We also want to commend Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins for her strong commitment to road safety and continued investment in road infrastructure across our communities.”
Councillor Declan Murphy added:
“This is a positive outcome for residents who have been calling for improvements at Meadowbrook Park Newry.
“We have worked directly with the local community to highlight the need for resurfacing, and it is great to see that this work has now been secured and will commence shortly.
“This resurfacing will make a real difference for those who use the area daily, and we will continue to engage with residents and keep them updated as the works progress.”
