Light up the life of someone you love this year by dedicating a light to them on the Southern Area Hospice Christmas tree. Each Christmas their beautiful tree is adorned with thousands of white lights, each one shining in honour of someone special who is lovingly remembered.
The tree will be illuminated at a special ceremony held on the 12th of December at 7:30pm in the grounds of the Hospice at Courtney Hill, Newry. It’s not just for those families that have experienced the care of the Hospice, but for the entire community – anyone who wishes to remember someone special this Christmas.
Speaking on behalf of Southern Area Hospice, Liz Cuddy, Chief Executive said, “Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Our Light Up a Life event offers a meaningful opportunity for our community, staff, and supporters to come together and honour their memory. Many find great comfort in this act of remembrance.”
“Our Hospice provides the highest standard of specialist palliative care to those with complex, life-limiting conditions. By lighting a light in memory of a loved one, you are helping us continue to provide exceptional care to individuals right across the Southern Health and Social Care Trust. We look forward to welcoming many supporters again this year.”
There will also be a Dungannon Lights Ceremony taking place on Wednesday 27th November, at 10:00am in the Mid Ulster District Council Office and Craigavon Lights will take place on Wednesday 4th December, at 12:00pm in the Craigavon Civic Centre.
The annual Light Up a Life appeal is generously supported by Gordons Chemists and Killowen Contracts Limited.
