Veteran SDLP Campaigner Frank Feely Urges Voters to Protect the Good Friday Agreement at the Polls This Thursday

Veteran SDLP campaigner and Newry’s first Mayor has urged voters to protect the Good Friday Agreement when the head to the polls on Thursday.

He said: “I worked with the late Seamus Mallon and the late John Fee and many others to deliver the Good Friday Agreement and I firmly believe it is the only basis upon which to build a prosperous peaceful future in the North and across Ireland.

“That’s why voters need to protect the Agreement and support the SDLP candidates in this election who will be the custodians of the Agreement and will work to ensure all elements of it will be implemented.

“This election is not about poking the DUP in the eye it’s about getting people elected who want to work together for the common good on issues such as the protection of our services at our precious Daisy Hill Hospital, building more badly needed homes for our young families, helping our citizens through the Cost of Living Crisis and creating jobs for our young people.

“That is what this election is about and that is what the SDLP is about and that’s why I urge people to think about the issues that matter to them and vote for those who put people first and vote SDLP this Thursday”
