Armagh Down Cycling Club is calling on all cycling enthusiasts to join them for The Gullion Tour on Sunday, April 30th. This exciting cycling challenge aims to raise awareness and funds for PIPS Hope and Support, a local charity dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health.
The Gullion Tour will take cyclists on a journey through the natural beauty of counties Down, Armagh, Louth, and the Cooley Mountains. Departing from the Shamrocks, Pairc Esler, Newry, the tour offers both 60km and 100km routes to suit all levels of proficiency.
At the launch, chairman Peter Dunne extended an invitation to cycling clubs, cyclists, and charity supporters to join them. “Armagh Down Cycling Club is delighted to host the Gullion Tour cycling challenge. Cyclists will meander their way through three counties, Down, Louth, and Armagh, through scenic Cooley and the outstanding beauty of the Ring of Gullion.”
Not only will you indulge in a marvellous experience, but you will also support and help raise fundamental awareness and funds for PIPS Hope and Support. This charity provides invaluable assistance to those in need and we are delighted to have the opportunity to assist them with their mission.
Upon completion, join us back at the Shamrocks, Pairc Esler, where you will be presented with your finisher’s medal and refreshments. Our club looks forward to welcoming you on the day.”
Padraig Harte, the fundraising, marketing, and communications manager of PIPS Hope and Support, expressed his gratitude to the members of Armagh Down Cycling Club for their unwavering support. “On behalf of everyone at PIPS Hope and Support, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Armagh Down Cycling Club for choosing our charity as their beneficiary. Every penny raised for our cause enables us to provide therapy to individuals who are dealing with suicidal thoughts, high levels of anxiety, poor mental health, or have been bereaved by suicide.
We wish the organisers of the Gullion Tour all the best and hope that this event will be a resounding success. We encourage all cyclists to participate in this exciting and thrilling event.”
