Police in Newry are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of a burglary in the Violet Hill Avenue area in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday January 17th.
Inspector Porter said: “We received a report at 6am that a property had been broken into. The suspect entered the house via the back door and a number of items were taken from two A4 lever arch storage boxes including four passports, medical cards and birth certificates.
“The suspect also took two sets of spare car keys and returned to take a vehicle, a silver coloured Honda Civic Sport, from the property at approximately 9.30am.
“Our investigation is underway and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area or noticed any suspicious activity, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 166 17/01/23.”
