Sinn Féin representative Aidan Mathers has said that news of an armed robbery at a premises in Newry this morning is shocking.
The Newry City representative said:
“I am shocked to hear about the robbery of a premises on Patrick Street in Newry today
“A man entered the shop and threatened a female member of staff with a knife before making off with a sum of money in the direction of Monaghan Street.
“This is a disgraceful incident and the member of staff has been left badly shaked by the incident.
“I would encourage anyone with any information to bring it forward to the police.
