SDLP Representative for Cusher Emmajayne McKernan has written to DfI Road Service to request remedial works at the bridge at the Old Kiln on the Granemore Road.
Ms McKernan said, “I have been contacted by local road users to alert me to damage to the bridge at the Old Kiln on the Granemore Road. I inspected the damage myself and have written to DfI Road Service asking for this bridge to be fixed as soon as possible.
“My concern would be, if the damaged bridge is left for some time, the damage could lead to further crumbling of the stone bridge and would then end up a much bigger job.
“I trust this remedial work will be added to the Road Improvement schedule.”
