Sinn Féin Councillor Barra Ó Muirí has welcomed works starting to put better drainage in place on the Cullyhanna road.
The Slieve Gullion Councillor said:
“It’s great to see DFI begin works to install additional drainage in place on the right hand side of the Cullyhanna road.
“There have been a number of accidents in this area over recent months so the community were keen to see this issue addressed.
“I made this point clear at a site meeting recently between the residents of the Cullyhanna road, myself and the Department.
“I’m glad that DFI has begun this works so promptly after our meeting and hope that these works will help to improve road safety for the community of Cullyhanna.
