To celebrate Positive Ageing Month Crotlieve District Electoral Area, hosted an afternoon tea dance in Warrenpoint Town Hall.
Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage said, “Positive Ageing Month provides an opportunity for our elderly residents to come together, to try something new, while enjoying the companionship and friendship of others. It is heartening to see so many people here today. During October, it is so important to highlight and take notice of the invaluable contributions that older residents make to our local community.
Cllr Savage continued, “We are all too aware that during the winter months many of our older residents can feel isolated and lonely, so events like today are so important to enable residents to catch up with friends while connecting with new faces – something that everyone has missed over the past few years.”
