Sinn Féin Councillor Roisin Mulgrew has welcomed news of the upcoming Sean Hollywood festival for Newry.
The Newry City councillor said:
“The upcoming event will be a week-long celebration of the whole arts culture within Newry as a send off for the existing arts centre before work on the new facility begins.
“There have been a number of successful events across the district this year such as ‘wake the giant’ in Warrenpoint or the upcoming Halloween festival in Slieve Gullion.
“All of these events are very popular with the local community and provide a much needed boost for local businesses.
“As the main city in the district I’m glad to see that Newry will have the chance to host this festival and I hope that the council will continue to look at Newry city as a key venue for holding such festivals in the future.
