Sinn Féin Councillor Oonagh Magennis has said that the delay by local planners on a decision around a new Community Centre for Camlough is extremely frustrating for the community.
The Slieve Gullion Councillor said:
“The planning application for the new Community Centre has been in the system for over two years now.
“Despite many requests for updates on the reasons for the continued delay in processing the application, the response from the planning department has been extremely limited.
“As the community of Camlough continues to grow, they need an adequate space for sports, meetings and other public events that the community can use.
“These constant delays by the planners are failing the community of Camlough.
“I hope that the planning department will come to a decision as soon as possible so that we can work to help the local community association in drawing down funding to kick start the next phase of the project.”
