Speaking to Clanrye News and Sport is Sarah McDonald:

“We’re really excited to bring you our Live Summer Special with live sets from not one, but two amazing bands!

Virgins are a shoegaze band with Michael Smyth at the hazy centre, joined by vocalist Rebecca Dow and completed by David Sloan on rhythm guitar, Brendy McCann on bass and James Foy on drums. Bringing you ‘deafening dream pop’ comparable to Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream era and “Cocteau Twins with extra guitar and drums, exquisite.”

“Their debut single ‘Vow’ was picked up by Golden Plec, Chordblossom & played on Q Radio and ATL. Virgins are a fresh new talent that offer something no one else in this country is doing. The band recently signed to Blowtorch Records. Through the haze of fuzz and reverb lies a beautiful cacophony of melody. Definitely ones to watch & not to be missed!”

“Local heroines Small Talk will be joining the fray with their fresh and passionate blend of Riot Grrrl & Alt Rock. Formed in December 2019, they’ve made it their mission to take the music scene by storm. Band members – Aoife Cranney , Bridin Magee , Èmer Doyle & Ciara O’Reilly have surely made their impact on the NI music scene when they were voted winners of ‘Clash Of The Newbreeds 2020’ in The Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast after winning the hearts of the voters and the judges. Their debut single ‘Sober’ was received with great positivity from fans and critics alike and the girls are currently working on some new exciting music which they hope to release later this year. They’ll be joining us fresh from their appearance at Belfast Pride – Party In The Square!”

“All of this alongside a festival of floor filling Indie/alternative fun. With DJs playing classic tracks, hidden gems & hot new releases.

Expect to hear anything from… Arcade Fire-Ash, The Beastie Boys-Blondie, Chemical Brothers-The Cure, Fontaines DC-Fatboy Slim, Happy Mondays-Hole, Jamie T-Joy Division, The Killers-The KLF, MGMT-Massive Attack, NewDad-Nirvana, The Pixies-The Prodigy, The Stone Roses-Smashing Pumpkins, Wet Leg-White Stripes… and everything in between.”
