Sinn Fein MLA Liz Kimmins has welcomed news that the Windmill road will be included in the new list of resurfacing works for Newry.
The Newry and Armagh MLA stated:
“Since last year road resurfacing works have been delayed in council areas including Newry Mourne and Down, as a result of a legal challenge.
“This led to much needed investment in our roads being put on hold. Sinn Féin have been constantly calling for resurfacing works to commence as soon as possible.
“Infrastructure Minister John O’Dowd has awarded contracts for Newry Mourne and Down and other council areas totalling £20 million pounds.
“I’m delighted that the Newry Roads Section Office has confirmed that Windmill Road is a priority for resurfacing and is included in upcoming works.
“Sinn Féin recognise the need to address the roads crisis, invest in our local roads and bring them up to a standard that local communities deserve.
