Newry, Mourne and Down District Council hosted a Men’s Health Event in partnership with the Rural Health Partnership Clanrye Group, Bolster, Rural Health Partnership, the Council’s Health and In-equalities dept, P.I.P.S, and Aware NI on Thursday 16 June in Slieve Gullion.
The event included free taster workshops, activities and health checks as part of a series of events organised for Men’s Health Week. The aim of Men’s Health Week is to encourage men and boys to engage in healthier lifestyle choices and heighten their awareness to preventable health problems.
Our Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage was inspired to see men from all walks of life taking part, recognising how important it is for men to take steps to look after their mental and physical health by linking in with support services, their local GP’s and each other.
