Cost of Living Putting Huge Pressure on Women’s group – Kimmins

Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins said the cost of living crisis is putting huge pressure on community organisations such as Women’s Aid.

Liz Kimmins was speaking after she and the Communities Minister Deirdre Hargey MLA met with Women’s Aid in Newry.

The Newry and Armagh MLA said:

“Workers and families across the north are struggling, as the cost of living continues to rise it is putting more pressure on community groups like Women’s Aid.

“These community groups need our help to support the amazing work that they do.

“Sinn Féin wants to get the £400 million sitting unspent in the Executive’s bank account into people’s pockets to help tackle the cost of living.

“To do this we need an executive.

“We are ready to form an executive now.

“I am calling on the DUP to end its boycott of the Assembly, the Executive and the north south bodies so we can work together to get money out the door to the people we represent.”
