Police received and responded to a report of attempted burglaries in the Lisdarragh Road area of Newry this morning, Thursday 24th March.
It was reported at around 10am that two males had been seen trying to gain access to two properties, before making off on foot.
Two men were arrested in connection with the incident, one of who was subsequently released unconditionally. The second man remains in police custody at this time.
Enquiries are continuing, and police are appealing for anyone who may have any information which could assist, to contact 101 and quote reference number 491 of 25/03/22.
