Police investigating an incident involving a vehicle in Downpatrick on Thursday, 10th February, are appealing for information and witnesses.
Shortly after 2.30pm it was reported a woman in a vehicle was attacked and her vehicle stolen from the Meadowlands area of the town.
A male smashed the passenger window of a Grey VW Golf and attempted to assault the driver, who managed to escape.
A short time later the stolen vehicle then crashed into at least three cars on Church Street.
The vehicle then crashed into a business premises on Market Street when the male fled from the scene.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Enquiries are continuing and officers would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage of the damage caused to cars on Church Street and the local business premises, to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 953 of 10/02/22.
