Newry and Armagh Alliance representative Jackie Coade has condemned the recent racist graffiti at the Mourneview Park estate in Newry.
Ms Coade said:
“There are just no words. I was contacted earlier today about this disgusting racist slur dubbed across a house in the Mourneview area of Newry.
It is hugely disappointing to see this abhorrent racist graffiti clearly aimed at intimidating families from moving in to the area.
Our own history of emigration & migration are what make us a very welcoming and understanding society to live in. I would appeal to those who carried out this act to cease their activities and for anyone to contact their local political representatives if they have any concerns.”
“There is no place for racism or abuse of any kind in our community and I appeal to anyone with information to please contact the PSNI at Ardmore station or on 101 with any information they may have.”
