“It’s welcome that our call for long-term support for the arts & creative industries sectors was supported by all parties today. It’s estimated that many thousands are employed within these sectors and they are growing industries here with large-scale investment in new studios.
“The need for a 10-year strategy is clear. It will help to grow these industries and ensure we have the facilities and skills-base to facilitate that growth. We first made this call in 2016 and I’m delighted to receive cross-party support and support from the Communities Minister for this.
“The sectors have been hard hit by COVID and it has been let down through depleted funding from central Government over the last number of years. The sectors need stability to thrive. A clear road-map, complemented by longer-term allocation of funding, can provide that.”
