Sinn Féin MLA for Newry and Armagh, Conor Murphy and his colleague, Councillor Oonagh Magennis welcomed progress on the development of the GAA club in Belleeks.
Commenting on the visit Conor stated:
I was delighted to accompany my colleague to visit the GAA club in Belleeks today. We met with two hard working club volunteers; Jimmy McCreesh and Caolan Quinn to see the progress they had made on the development of the club so far and their ambitious plans for the future.
His colleague, Councillor Magennis commented:
Both myself and my colleague, minister Murphy, were extremely pleased at the great progress the club had made already in developing the club and to hear the passion with which they laid out their plans to keep working to provide a top class facility for the community was very pleasing.
Concluding on the matter, Conor Murphy stated:
The GAA is a central part of our rural communities and in many cases is the heartbeat of rural Ireland. To see the passion with which their volunteers strive to make these clubs an asset to their community is extremely satisfying and both myself and my colleague wish Belleeks GAA all the best going forward.
