Man Arrested Following Hill Street Incident in Newry

Police in Newry arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of begging, interference with vehicles, possession of a Class A controlled drug, and possession of a Class C controlled drug.
The arrest followed an incident in the Hill Street area of the city at approximately 9.30am yesterday, Tuesday 14th September, during which a man was reported to have been trying to open car doors, and begging.

The man was taken to custody for questioning, and subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries.
