Newry City SDLP Councillor Gary Stokes has welcomed the replacement of a new, modern bus shelter at Ardfreelin in Newry.
Speaking on the announcement Cllr Stokes said:
“After meeting with local residents on New Year’s Eve on the terrible condition of the existing shelter I am delighted to see a new replacement modern shelter is up for approval at tonight’s Council meeting.
School children cannot be expected to wait out of the rain for a bus in such a place in 2021. My thanks to local residents for raising this and to council officers for taking this forward.”
