Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has called on drivers to exercise more care while travelling through our villages this summer.
The Councillor said,
“Residents in Mullaghbawn raised concerns with me about vehicles entering housing estates travelling to fast whilst children played in the street.
I would encourage drivers to slow down as they enter residential areas. Summer is here, schools have closed and the streets are full of children playing. With cars parked and children on bicycles it can be difficult to see a car enter a street.
It is essential that we all slow down to ensure the safety of children. Adding a few seconds to our journey will not affect us but it will help protect the health and wellbeing of our young residents.”
