Local newspaper Clanrye News and Sport have sponsored a charity Gaelic jersey to raise funds for Rathore special needs School in Newry. The jersey which is blue and yellow representing Down’s Syndrome colours was created by Tipperary Sports Company Bourke sports.
Speaking on the initiative Editor of Clanrye News and Sport Kevin McAteer said:
“It was my absolute pleasure to sponsor and help Bourke Sports design a jersey to help raise money for Rathore special needs School. Rathore is such an important part of our community and the work they do is amazing.
The idea came from my best friends who have a little boy called Ryan Rooney who lives with Downs’ Syndrome. When Ryan is older he could be attending Rathore so I wanted to give something back to the community and raise much needed funds for such an amazing school.
You can buy the jersey on the website which is really handy as Bourke Sports do everything for you they take the order, post and package and have it delivered to your door. This will be very helpful particularly with the current Covid 19 uncertainty.”
