VIGILANCE NEEDED IN FORKHILL AND DROMINTEE

Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Larkin has called for increased vigilance within the communities of Forkhill and Dromintee following two burglaries in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The local Councillor said

” Entry was forced into a property at Forkhill at approximately 3.40am on Tuesday morning whilst a house in Dromintee was entered and two cars were stolen between 11pm Monday night and 4am Tuesday morning.
The invasion of residents homes and property by criminals is a very distressing occurance and is rightly condemned by the community”.

The Councillor continued,

I  have been in contact with both the householders who are naturally upset and with the police, who will update me with any developments.
The police have attended both scenes and will be carrying out increased patrols due to these incidents.

Concluding the Sinn Féin Councillor said,

I would appeal to anyone who has information on either of these crimes or on the where abouts of the two cars to contact either myself or the police. These criminals must be caught and dealt with. Our communities deserve to live free from crime and free from the fear of it.”
