Sinn Féin MP Mickey Brady has said that teaching staff must be supported with fair pay as teachers and other workers struggle with the cost-of-living crisis.
The Newry and Armagh MP said:
“Last night I attended a meeting hosted by teachers unions in Newry, calling for fair pay for their members.
“The cost of living is rising and the price of heating homes and fuelling cars is spiraling out of control and workers are entitled to fair pay.
“Every effort must be made to support workers and their families and put more money in their pockets.
”The British government must properly fund public services here so that we can invest in our children and young people, pay our teachers and school staff properly and provide an education system that delivers for all.”
