Sinn Féin MLA for Newry and Armagh, Liz Kimmins has welcomed news of a seizure of drugs on the seafin road near Meigh in South Armagh.
Liz said:
“News that a large quantity of drugs has been seized by the Police in the South Armagh area is to be welcomed.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities and have blighted many lives.
“The fact that these drugs will not find their way into the illegal supply chain is good news.
“I would encourage anyone with information on the supply of illegal drugs to bring it forward to the PSNI.”
Councillor Roisin Mulgrew echoed the feelings of her party colleague, stating;
“As one of the representatives for this area I am pleased that this seizure has been made by the Police and that these drugs will not make their way into the community here
“As my colleague said, drugs destroy lives and bring misery into our communities so to see a quantity such as this being removed is always to be welcomed. “
