FC Mindwell Reserves have bolstered their squad with six new arrivals as preparations step up for the beginning of the new football season.
With the opening weekend fast approaching, the manager has been busy adding to his options, bringing in players from a number of local clubs ahead of the Reserves’ first competitive action.
Three of the new arrivals make the move from Church Street in Newry, with Jamie O’Connor, Tiernan O’Connor and Jay Kelly all joining the Mindwell ranks.
The trio provide a significant boost to an already established Reserves squad as the club looks to make a strong start to the new campaign.
There is also a familiar face returning to the club, with Kris McNeill rejoining Mindwell after a spell with Ballybot. McNeill has previously represented the club and now returns ahead of the new season.
Young goalkeeper Ryan Devlin is another addition. Devlin arrives from Newry and has been described by the club as a talented young keeper who they are looking forward to seeing develop within the squad.
Completing the six new arrivals is Claudio Santos, who joins Mindwell Reserves from FST Timor.
Announcing the new additions, FC Mindwell said the six players were joining an already established squad at an important time, with the new season now just days away.
Attention will quickly turn from recruitment to action on the pitch, with Mindwell Reserves set to begin their campaign this weekend with a local derby against Gilford Crusaders FC.
The opening fixture should provide an early test for the strengthened squad and an opportunity for the new signings to make their mark as Mindwell begin their new campaign.
