Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has condemned the recent spate of vandalism and attacks across Newry and Armagh, including damage to council property, a childcare facility and local businesses.
“There is no excuse for this criminal and anti-social behaviour. It is causing damage, fear and anger in our communities and must end now.
“Those targeted are the very people and services our communities rely on, local businesses, childcare providers and public facilities.
“This behaviour is unacceptable and those responsible need to be held accountable.
“We are engaging with all relevant agencies, including the police, council, schools and community organisations, to ensure a joined-up response.
“I would also urge parents and guardians to speak with young people about respect and responsibility.
“Our communities deserve safe streets, protected services and support for those trying to do the right thing — not mindless vandalism and intimidation.”
