Harte Welcomes Opening of Newry Christmas Markets and Encourages People to Come Along

Sinn Féin Councillor Valerie Harte has welcomed the opening of the Newry Christmas Market tomorrow, highlighting the social benefits for families and residents, the economic boost for local businesses and traders, and the positive impact the event will have in bringing the city centre to life.

Councillor Harte said:

“It is fantastic to see initiatives like this in Newry, bringing our city to life in the run-up to Christmas with Santa’s grotto, a wide range of stalls for shopping and food, spaces for socialising, and music to spark the festive spirit.

“Newry is a brilliant city and this market showcases the best of what we have to offer. I commend Noelle and Room Angelz on all the hard work they have put in to secure this event. I am delighted to see so many local traders and stallholders involved.

“This is a real boost for the city, something for people of all ages to enjoy, creating a festive atmosphere and supporting local enterprise.”

“I want to commend the traders and organisers who have worked tirelessly to make this market a reality. Their dedication has been central to bringing this event together.

“Sinn Féin will continue to support local traders, families and our wider community. We remain committed to making the most of our public spaces, creating opportunities and initiatives that bring social and economic life into Newry and ensure events like this are enjoyed by everyone.”
