Down Weather: Summer 2024 Was The Coldest Summers In 9 Years

By Down Weather

Met Éireann has released some information about the “summer” weather.  You don’t need me to tell you that summer did not happen.  You can read it below.

Summer 2024 was the coldest summers in 9 years.  The average temperature across the island of Ireland was 13.87°C.  it should be closer to 20°C.  Rainfall was below average as well at 86% of the average over the last 30 years.

What does this all mean?  The climate change crowd will be cracking up that we didn’t have a record breaking hot summer.  It has however been a summer of heat extremes in Europe and record cold in much of South America.

I’m old enough to remember the scare stories about acid rain and the ozone layer in the 1980s.  You hear nothing about that now.  Earth’s climate has changed rapidly in the past.  Greenland got its name from being green when the Vikings went there.  This would indicate the Earth has cooled since then.

As a student of science I look at all the information I can and make some sort of educated guess as to what’s right.

Here’s what I see:

There hasn’t been a category 5 hurricane to hit the USA in years.  Lack of heat?

The Atlantic Ocean could be cooling?  There is a suggestion that the North Atlantic drift is slowing down.  The impact here would be massive.
