Slieve Gullion area Sinn Féin Councillors Oonagh Magennis and Barra ÓMuirí have condemned a series of criminal attacks and arson in the Moylinn Close artea of Silverbridge.
Both Councillors said that these incidents have caused fear and anger within the local community.
Cllr Magennis said,
“These violent incidents have caused anger and fear. They are wrong and have no place in our society. Residents are determined that the scourge of such criminal acts will be brought to an end, they will not be intimidated.”
Cllr ÓMuirí added,
“It is fortunate that people including children were not injured or killed as a result of these criminal acts and arson attack. The people of South Armagh need to be reassured that the police are actively working with people on the ground to put an end to violent criminal activity.
I would appeal to anyone with information on these incidents to make it known immediately.”
Both councillors are liaising with local people and assure residents that Sinn Féin will stand with them to oppose criminality in all its forms.
