Sinn Féin MLA Liz Kimmins has welcomed an update on the second phase of funding to support businesses impacted by the flooding in November.
The Newry and Armagh MLA said:
Supporting families and businesses impacted by the devastating flooding in November has been a priority for Sinn Féin locally.
After a number of meetings, working with LPS and the Department of the Economy, we’re pleased to hear that more funding will be available soon.
“The scheme will be split into two parts, capped at £100,000 in total, the first part, for £10,000 will be straightforward to help businesses access funds quickly.
“The second part, making up the other £90,000 will require more detail, dealing with more complicated issues such as stock loss.
“This is a welcome step to help support local businesses and protect jobs. There should be more details on this scheme announced this week.
“We are also continuing to press DFC for funds to support residential properties so that those whose homes were damaged are not left behind.
“Sinn Féin will continue to work to support families and businesses as they look to recover from the November floods.
