Newry boxing star Danny O’Neill is ready to light up the All Ireland Boxing Championships this week after a stellar run of competition victories in the last few months.
The Newry based boxer has been training hard behind the scenes hoping to add All Ireland gold to his ever growing medal collection.

The Bosco’s Finest
St John’s Bosco has firmly established itself as one of the finest boxing clubs in the city hosting an array of boxing talent. Danny O’Neill is right up there as one of the finest products from the Bosco’s pool of talent. Danny won the Belfast Box Cup in October, got to Louth finals in November but had to withdraw due to sinus and chest infection and then won Ulster 9 counties late December.
Following a New Year and a well deserved break the Newry based boxer is ready to start off 2024 with a shot at the All Ireland Championships.
Following Tuesdays draw Danny will face his first opponent this Friday 12th January at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Continuing a Legacy
Danny himself comes from boxing heritage as his Grandfather Adrian “Nailer” O’Neill who won the golden gloves in America.
Danny is being coached by boxing legends Tony Moan, Senior Coach Tony Patterson and Adrian Patterson who won 11 All Ireland Junior and 3 Senior titles as well as going to the Commonwealth games.

Speaking to Clanrye News and Sport Danny said:
“I’ve been training really hard over the past year and the last few tournaments have shown the hard work pays off. I am in a good position physically and mentally going into the All Irelands and I’m ready to do my club and family proud.”
Clanrye News and Sport would like to extend its best wishes to Danny O’Neill and St John’s Bosco Boxing Club at the All Ireland Championships this month.
