Saoradh Urge Vigilance Over Newry Break-in

Saoradh have urged people to take extra precautions following a break-in that occurred in the Ballyholland Rd/Barley Lane area of Newry on Wednesday evening [8th Nov].

Speaking from Saoradh’s Newry office local party representative Stephen Murney explained ”We were contacted on Wednesday night on behalf of the victims of this disgraceful home intrusion.

“The homeowners are decent and respected members of the local community which is in stark contrast to the character of those who carried out this cowardly burglary.

“We have also been passed CCTV footage of the incident which we have permission to publish in the hope that we can help identify the perpetrators and ensure that they won’t carry out further break-ins.

“Saoradh activists have met and spoke with members of the community who are understandably concerned at this.”

The local community worker continued “We urge everyone to be vigilant and keep an eye on their neighbours. These anti-community elements have no place in society and should be ostracized by all.

“Saoradh have been actively helping to tackle issues such as this within our communities and we will continue to help and assist those in need.

“We urge everyone to be vigilant, take preventive measures to deter sinister elements and help keep their property and valuables safe. Anyone with any information on any of these incidents can contact any local Saoradh activist.

“Saoradh pledge to continue to work on behalf of the community to make our area safer for all the residents.”

“If anyone has any information as to who was behind this incident please contact any Saoradh activist or alternatively visit our office at 32 St Mary’s Street.”
