Kearns Welcome Progress as Erskine Street Road Resurfacing Gets Underway

Sinn Féin Councillor Geraldine Kearns has welcomed resurfacing at Erskine Street Newry, which commenced on 23rd February.

Councillor Kearns said:

“It’s really good to see this work finally getting underway on Erskine Street. The road surface has been in a dire condition, and it is great to see action being taken to address this.

“This is the final phase of resurfacing works being carried out to Sugar Island, Canal Street, New Street and Merchants Quay in Newry City and it is hoped it will be substantially complete by 1st March.

“Sinn Féin Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has been working hard to address the rapid deterioration of our road network through the additional funding she has recently secured for roads maintenance. It is great to see this targeted investment to deliver schemes like this at Erskine Street, which will benefit local residents and businesses.

“Sinn Féin will continue to work hard to improve our roads, and to deliver for our local communities.”
