Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald has written to the NIO Secretary of State calling for future funding for Go Succeed to be confirmed as soon as possible.
Go Succeed is majority funded from the British Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. This funding will end on 31 March 2026 and there is no confirmation of whether any further funding will be available.
The Minister said: “Go Succeed is a critical source of support for businesses across the north. In the last two years it has helped to create almost 2,500 new businesses, generated over 3,500 new jobs and awarded £6.3million of grant support to local businesses. It is essential that the British Government provides the necessary funding in 2026/27 to allow the service to continue.”
The Minister added: “It is unthinkable that we are now in December and the British Government have not told councils whether they will be funded to deliver Go Succeed from April. I have heard repeatedly about the significant impact that the service is having across the north. It appears though that the NIO and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government are not listening. I have written to the Secretary of State asking him to ensure that funding to support the continued delivery of Go Succeed is provided and look forward to receiving confirmation of this as soon as possible.”
