Sinn Féin MLA Aoife Finnegan and Councillor Áine Quinn have strongly condemned the break-in at a home in Silverbridge last night and are calling for witnesses or anyone with information to bring forward to police.
Aoife Finnegan said:
“We unreservedly condemn this disgraceful act of criminality. Breaking into someone’s home is not only illegal but deeply shameful.
“This incident, which occurred last night, has left the victims shaken. The perpetrators reportedly fled on foot, and police investigations are now being led by CID.
“We are working closely with all agencies and community representatives to help identify those responsible and to support the victims. Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home.
“We would urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact the police immediately.”
Councillor Áine Quinn added:
“This kind of criminal behaviour is utterly reprehensible and will not be tolerated in our community.
“People should feel safe and secure in their homes — those responsible for this cowardly act should be deeply ashamed of themselves.
“Sinn Féin will continue working with the affected residents, the police, and the wider community to ensure those responsible are brought to justice and that Silverbridge remains a safe place for all.”
