Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has condemned the recent incident involving the discovery of a viable pipe bomb following a police pursuit that ended in the Keady area.
“The PSNI have confirmed that two men, aged 22 and 37, have been arrested in connection with this incident.
“This serious situation, which began with a police pursuit in Lurgan and concluded in Keady, has caused understandable concern and disruption in our community.
“There is no place for this kind of dangerous activity in our towns and neighbourhoods. The possession of such devices poses a serious risk to public safety and must be condemned in the strongest terms.
“All roads have now reopened, and the police are calling for anyone with any information to bring it forward.
“I would like to thank the PSNI for their prompt response in managing this incident and working to keep our community safe.
“Sinn Féin will continue to engage with the PSNI and relevant agencies to support the ongoing investigation and to help ensure the safety of our communities.”
