In a remarkable show of community spirit and generosity, the McAvoy family and friends of the late Patrick (Paddy) McAvoy have raised an incredible £16,000 for PIPS Hope & Support, a local suicide prevention charity. The funds were raised through a Tractor Run held on Saturday, July 5, drawing crowds and participants from across the local area.
The event was organised as both a celebration of Patrick’s life and a powerful effort to support a cause close to the hearts of many. The turnout exceeded all expectations, with tractors of all shapes and sizes lining the roads in tribute, reflecting the rural roots and warm community connections that defined Patrick’s life.
Speaking after the event, Jenny, Patrick’s sister and main organiser of the event said the family were overwhelmed by the support received: “We wanted to do something that honoured Paddy’s memory in a way that brought people together—and that also made a real difference. The support from the community has been nothing short of amazing.”
