Sinn Féin MLA Aoife Finnegan has condemned a series of recent burglaries in the South Armagh area as “disgraceful and cowardly attacks” on local families, including the targeting of a vulnerable member of the community in their own home.
“These were calculated attacks by opportunists who prey on the vulnerable. Their actions are revolting, and they have no place in our community,” Ms Finnegan said.
She confirmed she has formally reported the incidents and is working closely with the police and other relevant agencies to ensure a strong and coordinated response.
“CCTV footage has captured those involved, and police are actively working to identify them. I urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
“Our community will not be intimidated by shameful criminals. I encourage everyone to remain vigilant, report anything suspicious, and support elderly and vulnerable neighbours.
“Sinn Féin will continue to work with the police towards these criminals being brought to justice and ensure that our community remains safe and vigilant.”
